At the PASCAR-ESCP Congress in Addis Ababa, STRong Heart investigators Prof. Mpiko Ntsekhe and Prof. Mark Engel led the pre-congress workshop, Research Methods & Registry Development in Africa. Presentations topics covered study design, statistical rigour, implementation science, and grant writing to strengthen cardiovascular research capacity across the continent.

The World Congress on Rheumatic Heart Disease 2026 will unite researchers, clinicians, advocates and people with lived experience in Perth, Australia, 11–14 November 2026. Registration is open, with early registration extended to 30 August. Abstract submissions closed on 19 July 2026, with a late-breaking abstract window due to be announced in August 2026.
